Many extended health care plans may cover homeopathy including, for example, Blue Cross, Sunlife, etc.
Please check with your employer for details on your coverage. If you have extended health care benefits, homeopathy may be covered up to a certain amount per year (e.g., $300/yr). Otherwise, your plan may allow you to direct how you wish your health care dollars to be spent, in which case you could opt for homeopathic care.
If your employer does not currently cover homeopathic treatment, you may wish to inform them that you would like to see homeopathic treatments covered by your insurance plan, particularly since homeopathy became a regulated health profession in Ontario on April 1, 2015. Homeopathic treatment is one of the most cost effective medical treatments available.
If you do not have coverage through an extended health care plan, your homeopathic treatment can be claimed as a "Medical Expense" on your Income Tax Return.
